The TL;DR Battle Plan
You have every profession from last expansion but need to re-level them all in Midnight. Don't level them all at once — fund the expensive ones with a free gathering profession first. Here's the order that gets you to positive cash flow the fastest.
Leveling priority order (your main)
- Herbalism FIRST. Fastest to set up (~2–3 hrs) and it earns 200k–400k gold while you level it — instant cash flow with zero Knowledge-Point investment. This bankrolls everything below.
- Then one high-churn crafter — Alchemy or Jewelcrafting. ~5–8 hrs Alchemy = highest passive weekly income (flasks/potions burn constantly). Jewelcrafting = gem market + Mining synergy. Pick one.
- Inscription for the single highest weekly profit ceiling (missives, Vantus Runes) plus the brand-new player-housing décor market.
- Combat-gear professions LAST (or skip). Blacksmithing / Leatherworking / Engineering lost ground this expansion — crafted gear is now less profitable than gems, embellishments & consumables. Only level them if you want to serve a specific gear/embellishment niche.
💡 Alts: give them Herbalism only. Gathering needs no KP investment, and Warband storage lets alts feed mats to your main with zero mailing friction. Park a gatherer on every alt.
The core weekly money loop
- Farm herbs Monday (mounted, on your gathering route).
- Craft flasks / pots / gems Tuesday morning before raid reset.
- Post on the Tue / Wed / Sun demand spikes and sell all week.
3 rules that decide your profit
- Concentrate, don't spread. Finish ONE high-value spec branch before touching others — KP compounds.
- Front-load high-churn output. Spend first KP on what you re-sell constantly (flasks, gems, missives), never one-off gear nodes.
- Grab every one-time KP early. 24 from world treasures + ~20 from Renown/Abundance books = 44+ free points to bank up front.
Gold-Making Tier List
Synthesized from Icy Veins (weekly profit ceiling) + AccountShark (raw gold/hour). Figures are server- & time-dependent estimates — they compress as more players pile in. See the full professions hub for each spec unlock order.

Why it shakes out this way
- Herbalism wins on barrier-to-entry — 150k–250k g/hr, zero investment, scales with playtime.
- Alchemy wins on consumable churn — flasks/potions are consumed every single raid night (2M–5M g/week).
- Inscription & Jewelcrafting balance both — high weekly ceiling + steady demand (missives/gems sell without crafting orders).
- Blacksmithing / LW / Engineering dropped to B because the market shifted to trinkets, embellishments & gems over crafted combat gear.
