Fury Warrior Guide
Fury is a very active, GCD-locked melee that builds Rage and dumps it into Rampage to keep the Enrage buff (and its Haste boost) rolling near-permanently. The payoff is fast, high-uptime sustained damage that cleaves well, plus genuinely strong group utility โ in Midnight it picked up extra interrupt/CC value (Bladestorm interrupts on Slayer, a ranged silence via Javelineer/Wrecking Throw, Shockwave/Storm Bolt stuns) on top of Rallying Cry as one of the few raid-wide defensives. That utility buff alongside its reliable damage is why it sits comfortably at A in both raid and M+. Its only real weaknesses are melee range and a flat damage profile with no immunity or cheat-death.
As of Patch 12.0.5, the Nebulous Voidcore lets you target gear via Bonus Loot rolls after Season 1 Raid bosses, Mythic+ dungeons, Bountiful Delves, and Nightmare Prey Hunts โ a controlled way to chase Fury BiS instead of waiting on the Vault. A Bonus Roll after a M+ dungeon awards the Great Vault item level for that keystone level, so +10 and above can drop 1/6 Myth-track pieces. Trinkets favor raid over M+ this season, so weight your weekly cores toward the raid trinkets (your BiS trinket, Heart of Ancient Hunger) and the Rage of the Night Ender tier 4pc; raw ilvl Strength upgrades almost always win, so few rolls are wasted.

๐ Opener
Pre-cast nothing fancy โ charge in and immediately stack Odyn's Fury with both major cooldowns so the Enrage train never stops. Use Rampage the instant you hit 100 Rage to lock Enrage before Recklessness/Avatar burn down.
- Charge into melee to start generating Rage
- Bloodthirst / Bloodbath to top off Rage and apply Enrage
- Rampage as soon as you reach the Rage to cast it (locks Enrage)
- Recklessness
- Avatar (line both major cooldowns together)
- Odyn's Fury (huge burst, refreshes Enrage)
- Rend / Thunder Blast to apply the bleed/debuff
- Bladestorm during the burst window
- Rampage again over 100 Rage, then fall into the single-target priority
โ๏ธ Single-Target Priority
The whole game is: keep Enrage up, never overcap Rage, and weave Odyn's Fury + Bloodthirst on cooldown. Rampage is your Rage dump and Enrage refresh โ fire it at/over 100 Rage or right before Enrage would fall off.
- Recklessness and Avatar on cooldown (use together)
- Odyn's Fury on cooldown (big burst + instant Enrage)
- Rampage when over 100 Rage, or if Enrage is about to expire
- Execute during Sudden Death procs (and in execute range)
- Thunder Blast / Thunder Clap when you have charges
- Bladestorm on cooldown (free during Slayer's Sudden Death procs)
- Bloodthirst / Bloodbath to keep Rage flowing and refresh Enrage
- Raging Blow / Crushing Blow as the filler to spend charges
- Whirlwind only to refresh the cleave buff, not as ST filler
๐ฅ AoE / Multi-Target Priority
Same Enrage-and-dump core, but front-load Whirlwind to flag your single-target hits as cleave, and lean harder on Odyn's Fury, Bladestorm and Thunder Clap. Mountain Thane swaps Whirlwind for Thunder Clap and turns Bloodthirst into your empowered-Thunder-Blast engine.
- Whirlwind to apply the cleave buff (so Rampage/Bloodthirst hit everything)
- Recklessness + Avatar on cooldown
- Odyn's Fury on cooldown (top AoE burst, refreshes Enrage)
- Bladestorm on cooldown โ biggest sustained AoE button
- Thunder Clap / Thunder Blast to keep the debuff and feed Lightning Strikes
- Rampage over 100 Rage or to refresh Enrage
- Execute on Sudden Death procs (cleaves with Massacre/Slayer)
- Bloodthirst / Bloodbath to maintain Enrage and Rage
- Raging Blow / Crushing Blow as filler; re-apply Whirlwind when the cleave buff drops
โฑ๏ธ Cooldowns
Line your two majors (Recklessness + Avatar) together and pour Odyn's Fury into that window. Don't hold them for perfect stacks in M+ โ the rotation is busy and uptime beats hoarding. Delay only briefly for an imminent AoE pack or a boss burst phase.
๐ Defensive Toolkit
Fury is a do-it-yourself survivor: no immunity or cheat-death, but a deep kit of personal cooldowns plus a rare raid-wide defensive. Bloodthirst's passive self-heal scales up while Enraged, so high uptime is also your sustain.
๐งฐ Utility & Crowd Control
| Ability | Use |
|---|---|
| Pummel | Primary interrupt. Use a focus/mouseover macro; Slayer can interrupt even while Bladestorming. |
| Wrecking Throw | Ranged attack; with Javelineer it becomes a ranged silence/interrupt โ great for Voidbound and casters out of melee. |
| Storm Bolt | Single-target stun (talent). Core M+ pick for locking a dangerous mob. |
| Shockwave | Frontal AoE stun. Core M+ pick; the answer to Ascendant orbs and packed pulls. |
| Intimidating Shout | AoE fear โ emergency CC/peel, but scatters mobs, so use deliberately. |
| Piercing Howl | AoE slow; kite/peel and useful for Pulsar-style wave mechanics. |
| Charge / Heroic Leap / Intervene | Core mobility: gap-close, leap a chasm, or jump to an ally (Intervene also redirects a hit). |
| Berserker Rage | Breaks fear/sap and prevents incoming fear/incap โ anti-CC on demand. |
๐ Stat Priority
Priority: Item Level (Strength) > Mastery > Haste > Versatility > Critical Strike. The same order holds for single-target and AoE, and for both hero trees.
- Mastery โ very strong because it amplifies the damage of your near-permanent Enrage buff. With Enrage up almost all the time, Mastery is effectively a flat damage multiplier.
- Haste โ close behind: it compresses the rotation, speeds Rage generation, and keeps reducing rotational cooldowns even past 100%. Enrage itself grants Haste, so the spec already feels fast.
- Versatility โ small all-round damage + a little defense.
- Critical Strike โ weakest secondary; Fury no longer banks bonus Rage on crits, so it just adds raw damage.
๐ Tier Set, Trinkets & Consumables
Tier set โ Rage of the Night Ender (via Catalyst): 2pc = Rampage and Odyn's Fury damage +10%. 4pc = Odyn's Fury cooldown โ2.5s and an additional +10% Odyn's Fury damage. It causes no rotational changes (both abilities are already top priority) and is worth roughly +4% overall โ get all four pieces, but don't sweat the order.
Top trinkets (raid > M+ this season): Gaze of the Alnseer and Heart of Ancient Hunger are the clear best. Umbral Plume is a strong third. M+ alternatives: Algeth'ar Puzzle Box and Vessel of Tortured Souls.
Consumables: Flask of the Shattered Sun (or Blood Knights / Magisters to fit your stat needs) ยท combat potion Potion of Recklessness ยท Silvermoon Health Potion ยท food Harandar Celebration ยท Void-Touched Augment Rune ยท weapon oil Thalassian Phoenix Oil. Gems: Indecipherable Eversong Diamond (unique) + Flawless Quick Amethyst (Haste) / Flawless Masterful Peridot (Mastery) elsewhere. Embellishments: Arcanoweave Lining + Darkmoon Sigil: Hunt are common picks. Enchants: weapons Arcane Mastery (MH) / Berserker's Rage (OH); standard armor enchants per slot โ sim to confirm Haste vs Mastery variants.
๐๏ธ Mythic+ Tips
- Run Mountain Thane in M+ โ Thunder Clap replaces Whirlwind for smoother, proc-independent sustained cleave on big pulls.
- Keep the cleave buff (Whirlwind on Slayer) refreshed before bursting a pack so Rampage/Bloodthirst splash to the whole group.
- Interrupt with a focus/mouseover Pummel; on Slayer you can keep kicking even while Bladestorming. Wrecking Throw + Javelineer gives you a ranged silence for casters out of melee.
- Stuns are core M+ talents: Shockwave for packs/frontals, Storm Bolt for a single priority mob. Shockwave is your Ascendant-orb answer.
- Affix utility: Shockwave for Ascendant, Wrecking Throw silence for Voidbound, Piercing Howl for Pulsar wave mechanics.
- Rallying Cry is a real group-save in M+ (boosted ~50% in non-raid content); pre-Spell Reflection big targeted casts; flick Defensive Stance for spike windows to spare Enraged Regeneration.
โจ๏ธ Macros & Addons
WeakAuras is not supported in Midnight (12.0) โ use Blizzard's built-in Cooldown Manager (importable configs on Wago.io). Addons: ElvUI, DBM/BigWigs, GTFO, OmniCD for party cooldowns.

๐ซ Common Mistakes
- Letting Enrage fall off โ Rampage at/over 100 Rage or right before it expires; a dropped Enrage tanks your Mastery-scaled damage.
- Overcapping Rage โ sitting at max Rage wastes generation; spend into Rampage (or filler) before you cap.
- Holding Odyn's Fury / Bladestorm for the 'perfect' moment โ they hit hard and come back fast; uptime beats hoarding, especially in M+.
- Forgetting Whirlwind before AoE โ without the cleave buff your Rampage/Bloodthirst only hit one target.
- Wasting Recklessness + Avatar unpaired โ line them together and dump Odyn's Fury in that window.
- Treating defensives as last-resort โ pre-plan Spell Reflection on known casts, Rallying Cry for group spikes, and Defensive Stance for chip phases.
