🛡️ Identity
Descended from the tauren blessed by the demigod Huln and the spirit Highmountain in ages past, these proud highland tribes were long sundered by the schemes of the drogbar and the Burning Legion. Reunited under their thunderlord chieftain, the Highmountain tauren brought their moose-antlered strength and reverence for the Earth Mother to the Horde.
Faction: Horde · Starting zone: Highmountain (capital: Thunder Totem, Broken Isles)

- Mountaineer — Increases your Versatility by a passive amount — a universal secondary-stat boost that improves both damage dealt and damage taken. (Passive)
- Waste Not, Want Not — You have a chance to loot additional meat and fish from creatures, a small profit and Cooking-material perk. (Passive)

📈 Min-Max Analysis
- Raid — Mountaineer's flat Versatility makes Highmountain Tauren a "never wrong" raid race for any spec, adding universal throughput and survivability, while Rugged Tenacity's passive damage reduction stacks extra durability on top. Bull Rush is mostly idle in raids but can occasionally close a gap or interrupt an add.
- Mythic+ — The combination of Mountaineer's Versatility (more damage and less damage taken) and Rugged Tenacity's passive mitigation makes this one of the tankiest all-purpose races for Mythic+. Bull Rush adds a knockdown that can stop a dangerous trash caster or stun-lock a pack briefly.
- PvP — Bull Rush is the standout PvP racial — a charging knockdown/stun that opens fights, peels for teammates, or interrupts a cast on a 2-minute cooldown. Mountaineer's Versatility boosts both damage and survivability, and Rugged Tenacity trims incoming burst, giving Highmountain Tauren a durable, control-flavored kit.
⭐ Best for: Durability-minded players across every role — the Versatility plus damage-reduction passives suit tanks and melee especially, while Bull Rush makes it a strong, control-heavy pick for PvP (Warriors, Death Knights, and Druids all benefit).
