🛡️ Identity
Once citizens of Lordaeron, the Forsaken broke free of the Lich King's grip to become a defiant nation of the unliving. Led for years by the banshee queen Sylvanas and now charting their own uneasy path within the Horde, they wield plague, cunning, and an unbreakable will to survive where the living would not.
Faction: Horde · Starting zone: Deathknell, Tirisfal Glades (capital: Undercity)
⚔️ Racial Abilities
- Will of the Forsaken — Removes any Charm, Fear, and Sleep effect. Shares a short cooldown with other similar effects, but acts as an extra crowd-control break on demand. (2 min cooldown)
- Cannibalize — Channel on a nearby Humanoid or Undead corpse to regenerate a percentage of your total health (and mana) every 2 seconds for up to 10 seconds. Any movement, action, or damage taken cancels it. (2 min cooldown)
- Touch of the Grave — Attacks and damaging spells have a chance to drain the target, dealing Shadow damage and healing you for the same amount. Also lets you breathe underwater indefinitely. (Passive)
- Shadow Resistance — Reduces Shadow damage taken by a passive amount. (Passive)
📈 Min-Max Analysis
- Raid — Touch of the Grave provides a small, steady passive self-heal and trickle of Shadow damage that fits any spec, while Cannibalize offers free out-of-combat health (and mana) recovery between pulls. Undead is a low-impact but never-detrimental raid race with a touch of extra sustain.
- Mythic+ — Cannibalize is genuinely useful in Mythic+ for topping off between packs without spending consumables or healer mana, and Touch of the Grave adds passive sustain during long pulls. Will of the Forsaken can shrug off a fear or charm mechanic on a key affix or boss.
- PvP — Will of the Forsaken is the headline racial: an on-demand break of Charm, Fear, and Sleep that frees you from some of the most disruptive crowd control in the game. Combined with Touch of the Grave's passive leech and Cannibalize for between-match recovery, Undead remains a long-standing favorite for casters and melee alike in PvP.
⭐ Best for: Players who value PvP utility and self-sustain — especially Priests, Warlocks, Mages, and Rogues who weaponize Will of the Forsaken against fear-and-charm-heavy comps. A solid, low-maintenance pick for any Horde class.
